The Design Council is the national strategic body for design in the UK and a non-departmental government division. It serves as a ‘bridge’ between the design industry, public sector and business to champion the importance of good design and its benefits to society, industry and the environment.
I worked at the Design Council for 3 1/2 years as the sole in-house Senior graphic designer – predominantly working on internal corporate communications but some external programmes also.

Southern Water: water design challenge.
The water design challenge was a programme created in partnership with Southern Water to teach students (11–14 years olds) about the importance of water conservation.

‘50 designers’ employee induction cards
A set of cards given to introduce new employees to design and the best of international designers and their work from architecture, graphic design, service design, industrial design and fashion.

Cambridge University: International Design Scoreboard
The International Design Scoreboard report presents findings from a study by the University of Cambridge to develop a framework for ranking nations design capabilities.
Design was recognised as a crucial factor for national economic competitiveness and prosperity, and the scoreboard provided evidence to support policy and highlight emerging design “powerhouses” like Korea and Singapore.
